This year again, the pitch forum was hosted by Toldi Cinema in Budapest, where the creators of the 11 selected projects presented their work in person, showcasing the diversity of the Hungarian animation scene. At the pitch forum, attendees could get acquainted with short films, feature-length projects, series, as well as immersive and documentary projects.
The winners were selected by a professional jury consisting of Luce Grosjean, head of the Paris-based MIYU Distribution, Dániel Deák, founder and director of Friss Hús, Éva Konrád, animation producer, Anna Ida Orosz, film historian, curator and researcher at the National Film Institute, and Áron Gauder, animation director.
In the end, the jury selected five projects and the audience selected one that will also be presented in Annecy in June. The winners are:
- Júlia Farkas – Abracadabra (TV series)
- Balázs Turai – Killin’ It (short film)
- Eszter Molnár – Paradise Island (TV series)
- Adél Szegedi – Sun in Retrograde (short film)
- Fábián Balogh – Half Open Half Pose (short film) – Audience Award
- Anna Katalin Lovrity – Rosie and Sapphire (TV series) – CEE Special Award
We will also report on the future of these projects on the platforms of Friss Hús.
Hunimation is realized through the collaboration of the Hungarian Animation Producers Association (MAPSZ) and the Friss Hús Budapest International Short Film Festival, with the support of the National Film Institute.
