STOET (Procession) is a redemptive dark tragic comedy. Johan and his daughter, Tess, are seen driving in a funeral procession. Johan is trying to comfort Tess but he only seems to make things worse. As they proceed to their destination, the tension and upset between them in the car grows. The character’s assumptions increase their misunderstanding of each other which is apparent to the viewer, but without any foreshadowing, the audience’s assumptions are revealed and challenged when the car’s progress and the storyline take a sudden turn.
