Roland Topors’ “Portrait en pied de Suzanne” is a tragic love story about a lonely, obese and tender protagonist with a bruised left foot, which reminds him of a longago love affair with Suzanne. It’s a dark but humorous story full of isolation, delirious misinterpretations and on the spot feelings of hunger, jealousy, kindness and nostalgia.
