BDFF Industry Events Announced

Budapest Debut Film Forum is a 3-day workshop, which includes great accompanied events, presentations, roundtables and case-studies opened to the participants from the industry and to the public. Here are the industry programs of the 3rd BDFF.

MARCH 30. 15:00-16:45 | Case studies on marketing campaign (Boris Pugnet, Tiramisu)

Boris has worked on the marketing campaign of several international films on the French market. In his presentation, he will show some remarkable examples of building up a campaign already from the early stage of the filmmaking process. He is currently running his own company specialized in film marketing, called Tiramisu.

MARCH 30. 17:00-18:15 | Case study on co-production (Ada Solomon)

The renowned Romanian producer, Ada Solomon, having several major international awards (two Golden Bears and one Silver Bears from Berlinale) will talk about the challenges of setting up a European co-production through some specific examples of her outstanding career.

MARCH 30. 19:00-20:30 | Informant (HBO) screening @ Cirko Mozi

HBO Hungary will premiere it's long-waited new original Hungarian series on April 1st on the renewed streaming platform, HBO Max. The guests of BDFF will have an opportunity to have an exclusive first time look at the first two episodes of Informant (created by Bálint Szentgyörgyi). With English subtitles in Cirko-Gejzir Movie Theater.

MARCH 31. 15:15-16:30 | Panel talk: financing European content (Marcin Lucaj, Klaudia Smieja-Rostworowska, Jakub Viktorin)

Europe and the world have faced a major shift in film production in the past few years towards creating content for global streaming platforms and broadcasters. How does this change affect the financing of European works? And how can we preserve the values of European art house films versus works for popular entertainment. The participants of the panel talk have experiences in both fields.

MARCH 31. 16:50-18:00 | Case study: Informant (HBO) - Viktoria Petrányi

An original Hungarian series project was developed by HBO Hungary and subsequently realized in collaboration with Proton Cinema. The case study will demonstrate the different stages of this exciting partnership. Presented by Anna Závorszky, executive producer of HBO Hungary and Viktória Petrányi, the prestigious producer of several award-winning Hungarian and international films.

APRIL 1. 13:00-15:00 | Pitch Forum

The participants of BDFF 2022 will present their projects (5 feature films and 5 series) to the professional audience and the guests of BDFF in a less-traditional, possible stress-free environment hosted by Zsuzsa Bánkúti, independent consultant and former sales agent of Match Factory.
