Submit a short film for the Fresh Meet Market Work in Progress event!
As part of the 13th Friss Hús Budapest International Short Film Festival, the Fresh Meet Market will host the Work in Progress event, which will offer the opportunity to showcase short films in production or post-production. Entry deadline: May 9, 2025.
Fresh Meet Market is Hungary’s first industry platform, connecting Central and Eastern European filmmakers with the wider European film industry. As part of the Oscar-qualifying Friss Hús Budapest International Short Film Festival, one of the region’s most significant short film events, it provides a vital space for emerging talents. Through its Works in Progress (WiP) pitch forum, special market screenings, and networking events, it introduces new voices to key industry professionals, opening doors to the international film world. Showcasing fresh cinematic perspectives that reflect the region’s spirit, Fresh Meet Market gives rising filmmakers the stage to make their mark.
The Fresh Meet Work in Progress is an exciting showcase of promising short films still in production or post-production, offering a unique opportunity for these works-in-progress to gain visibility among key figures in the short film industry: distributors, programmers, institutions, producers, and buyers. Fresh Meet WiP helps unfinished projects shine, driving valuable exposure and providing the opportunity to shape strategies with fresh perspectives from industry experts, potentially influencing the direction of future collaborations and project development.
